Evan Heckman

Evan was born and raised in the United States of America. He was blessed to be born into a family that valued travel and could afford to show him the world. He first visited Africa came when he was 12 as his mother took him to Ethiopia to help with Rotary International’s World Polio Day. His transformational experiences there led him and his family to explore the continent even further later life.

After graduating from the Univ. of Alabama, Evan decided to return to Africa by volunteering at the School of St. Jude in Arusha, Tanzania. This eye-opening experience gave way to Evan’s passion for all things Africa.

In the spring of 2014 Evan's career in the safari industry began after he became a certified nature guide in Southern Africa. He attributes much of his success in passing the FGASA Level 1 exams to many of the guides he met along the way, including his friend and mentor, Dylan Harriss. Since becoming a private guide Evan has guided travelers from all over the world in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Kenya and Tanzania.
